ST. CHARLES, Mo.—The Fontbonne University track and field teams closed out the Dr. Creer Invite today at Lindenwood with the women ending in fifth and the men in 13th.
How It Happened
In the field events on the women's side, Raven Venegas ended up in second place in the shot put with a throw of 11.59 m. Jillian Venegas followed in fifth at 11.00 m, while Sierra Moore ended up in 15th at 9.15 m.
Jillian Venegas earned another top-10 finish at 30.74 m for sixth, while Raven Venegas (20.42 m) and Mackenze Daniel (20.92 m) finished in 13th and 14th place, respectively. Caitlyn Ulery also competed in the event and ended at 20.90 m for 16th.
Murray also competed in the discus and smashed the school record with a throw of 34.08 m for fourth place. Thompson, meanwhile, finished at 17.61 m.
In the track events on the women's side, the duo of Desiree Brooks and Colleen Gosser competed in the 1500-meter run. Brooks timed out at 5:55.05, while C. Gosser ran her way to a time of 6:02.09. In the 4x100-meter relay, the team of Tamya Dixon, Natalie Zmuda, Emily Bay, and Katie Gosser finished in fifth at 56.47.
The Griffins are back in action next Friday at the SLU Billiken Invite.
