Women's Soccer Secures Second Straight SLIAC Regular Season Championship

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team secured its second straight SLIAC Regular Season Championship after knocking off Eureka, 2-0.

Game Breakdown

The Griffins held a 9-0 shot advantage before breaking through in the 23^rd minute. Kierstyn Weaver found Molly Kovarik in the box and the Festus, Mo., native made a move getting away from the Red Devils defense scoring her career-high 17^th goal on the season.

Fontbonne finished with a 10-0 shot advantage the rest of the way leading by one at halftime.

In the second half, the Griffins continued pressure paid off once more in the 55^th minute. Caroline Neal passed the ball up ahead of Claire Dalton. The Florissant, Mo., native, crossed the ball over into the box for the cutting Krystal Kohenskey and she scored her seventh on the season giving Fontbonne a 2-0 lead.

That proved to be more than enough with Fontbonne having a 21-1 shot advantage in the second half en route to the victory.

• Kovarik's has scored at least one goal in her last five games.
• Her 17^th goal on the year places her in second place for a single-season at Fontbonne.
• Kovarik's up to 118 career points placing her second all-time.

• Weaver's assist moves her up to sixth all-time with 19.
• Mary Beers is now tied for first in career shutouts at Fontbonne with 21.

• Huster's goal was his second in as many games.
• Baumgartner's goal was his third on the year and fourth in career.
• Calvert's goal was his fourth on the season.
• LaRocca earned his first collegiate assist.
