Location: Centene Stadium

How It Happened

Prior to the contest, the team honored its nine seniors Eric Volk, Nick Nelson, Cole Easley, Jason Dierker, Darwin Ivanovich, Matt Hennessy, Matt Eaton, Andres Castro, and Tyler Scales.

In the first half, the Griffins struck early in the 10th minute with Andres Castro finding Drew Moser in the box and he beat Red Devils goalie, Moises Aldana, top shelf to give them a 1-0 lead.

From there, the team continued to dominate play and eventually cashed in on another goal in the 40th minute. Fontbonne was awarded a corner kick and Jared Lyeki's cross found a cutting Anthony LaRocca who buried the attempt for his first collegiate goal.

In the second half, the Griffins added onto its lead in the 54th minute with Castro cutting down the left side of the field and finding Tyler Scales in the box. The senior received the pass and scored his first collegiate goal in his final game to give them the 3-0 lead.

That proved to be more than enough with Fontbonne owning a 15-1 shot advantage in the half as they cruised to the 3-0 win.
