TERRE HAUTE, Ind.— The Fontbonne University men's soccer team looked to close out its non-conference slate with a win over Rose-Hulman on Wednesday night, though the Fightin' Engineers fended off the Griffins for the 1-0 (OT) win.

How It Happened
It was a quite start offensively for both teams as the first shot wasn't registered until the 32nd minute by Rose-Hulman. The Fightin' Engineers outshot Fontbonne 6-2 but both goalies kept it a scoreless tie after one.
In the second half, the Griffins opened with a quick shot out of the gate as Jared Lyeki saw his attempt get stopped by Pascal Schlee. In the 56th minute, the Fightin' Engineers had a chance to take the lead on Wyatt McKibbon's shot, however, his attempt went off the post.
Rose-Hulman had a 7-2 shot advantage, though neither team found twine and it was off to overtime. In overtime, Jarid Morton had a shot on goal in the 91st minute but Schlee was there once more to make the save.
Then, in the 99th minute, Eric Kirby found McKibbon and he was able to beat Griffins goalie, Eric Volk, to score the game-winner.

- The Fightin' Engineers concluded with 16 shots.
- Schlee made four saves in net.
The Griffins will now take some time off before jumping into conference play on October 5th at Spalding. Kick-off at 12 p.m.
