Cowell Makes Career-High 14 Saves Against Mary Hardin-Baylor

RICHARDSON, Texas. – The Fontbonne University men's soccer team closed out its trip to Texas with a tough 2-0 loss against Mary Hardin-Baylor.

How It Happened

The scoring got started for the Cru in the 24th minute as Patrick Roach beat Ethan Cowell to give them a 1-0 lead. Mary Hardin-Baylor maintained that one goal lead until halftime. Cowell kept the Griffins in it with his seven saves.

In the second half, Cowell totaled seven more saves, but the Cru outshot Fontbonne 17-0 and got another goal from Brody Conley, allowing them to go on for the two-goal win.

Fontbonne Leaders

  • Jared Lyeki had the lone shot for Fontbonne.
  • Cowell made a career-high 14 saves.

Mary Hardin-Baylor Leaders

  • The Cru concluded with 30 shots.
  • Roach led with seven shots and five landing on net.
