Women's Tennis Falls Against Oakland City

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's tennis team dropped a tough 9-0 contest against Oakland City this afternoon.

How It Happened

In doubles play, the Mighty Oaks were able to win all three matches to take the 3-0 lead heading into singles.

In singles action, the Griffins continued to battle throughout, including at No. 5 where Keaton Whetstone took on Emily Bay. Bay was able to win the first set 6-3, but Whetstone won the second 7-6 to force a third set. In the third, both players left it all on the court as Whetstone ended up coming away with the 13-11 win.

With that win, the Mighty Oaks were able to sweep singles play and go on for the 9-0 win.
