Women's Soccer Picks Up Sixth Shutout Win On Season

EUREKA, Ill.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team earned its sixth shutout on the season after defeating Eureka, 8-0.

How It Happened

The Griffins grabbed a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game. Then, at 18:05, Molly Kovarik netted her sixth on the season to extend the lead out to 2-0.

Krystal Kohenskey scored her fourth on the season at 37:04, while Caroline Neal found the back of the net for the third time this year to give Fontbonne a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.

Fontbonne added four more goals in the second half from Kovarik, Kierstyn Weaver, Claire Dalton, and Riley Maag en route to the 8-0 win.

Fontbonne Leaders

• The Griffins outshot Eureka 54-0. It was the second time this season the team totaled at least 50 shots in a contest.
• Caitlyn Smith led with a season-high 11 shots.
• Kovarik finished with two goals giving her a team-high seven on the season.
• Along with her goal, Kohenskey ended with seven shots and four landing on net.
• Weaver's goal was her fourth on the season, while Dalton's and Maag's was number two on the year for each.
• Mary Beers notched another shutout win.
• Adrian Bell appeared in net for the first time this year totaling 32:23 minutes of action.
