Women's Soccer garnishes two All-Region Awards
St. Louis, Mo. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recently released NCAA Division III All-Region honors. For the first time in school history, two Fontbonne women's soccer players have been selected to the All-Central Region team.
Sophomore midfielder Kelly Hobbs (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) was selected to the All-Central Region Third Team for her 2014 season efforts. Hobbs led the Griffins with 10 goals and seven assists on the year. Six of those goals were game-winners. Hobbs is a special education major.
Junior Paige Pfankuch (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) has also been selected to the All-Central Region Third Team. Pfankuch led a defensive line that only allowed a conference-low 13 goals. She also scored two goals and ended the 2014 season second in the SLIAC with nine assists as the Griffins' corner kick specialist. Pfankuch is an early childhood education major.
Both Griffins received First Team All-Conference honors and Pfankuch was also named to the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
