Five women's soccer players earn SLIAC honors
After qualifying for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament for the fourth straight year, five Fontbonne University women soccer players brought home SLIAC honors.
Fontbonne senior Kendra Schilli earned SLIAC First Team All-Conference honors and SLIAC All-Tournament Team honors. Schilli led the Griffins with 11 goals and 10 assists for 32 points. She finisehd her career as Fontbonne's all-time leader in goals, assists and points.
Joining Schilli on the First Team were juniors Kaniz Abbas and Julia Conroy. Abbas finished the year with 105 saves and just above a 2.0 goals against average. She set the school record for most saves in a game recording 17 against Augustana earlier this year. Conroy, a defensive midfielder for the Griffins, recorded two goals and an assist.
Earning Second Team All-Conference honors was sophomore defender Ava Johnson. Johnson also had two goals and an assist on the season.
Fontbonne juniors Kim Carter and Anna Hotop earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. Carter recorded five goals and two assists in eight conference games for the Griffins. Hotop, a central defender, was also named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team.
