O'Brien suffered an injury in the Concordia game, forcing Fontbonne to play a man down on Sunday against Beloit. Despite the situation, the Griffins produced a strong 1st half.
After Beloit scored 1st, freshman Lyndsey Godier wrapped the right side of the crease for a left handed crease roll to even the score with 26:14 remaining. Fontbonne then jumped out to a 3-1 lead with 9 minutes to go. Fontbonne ended up trailing 5-4 at halftime.
With only 3 Griffins behind the restraining line, Beloit adjusted their transition and were able to pull ahead, scoring 4 goals within the 1st 2 minutes of play. Beloit would continue a scoring run throughout the half and win the game 16-5.
Against the Beloit Bucs, senior Carolann Brenzo produced 4 goals on 5 shots. Bennight recorded 13 saves in the loss.
Fontbonne is at home on Thursday against Missouri Baptist University. Game start time is 7pm at Centene Stadium in Clayton.
