Stafford, Black And Proffer Pick Up SLIAC Accolades

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) released the All-Conference Teams tonight and the Griffins saw the likes of Rylee Stafford, Paige Black, and Mallory Proffer be honored.

Stafford was named to the Second Team for the first time in her career. Black, meanwhile, was named to the Third Team and All-Defensive Team for the second straight year, while Mallory Proffer collected All-Sportsmanship honors.

Stafford, a Jackson, Mo., native, had a career year on the court. The sophomore averaged a team-high 15.4 points, shot 39.5 percent from the floor, 78.6 from the line, totaled 115 rebounds, 51 assists, and 51 steals, all of which are career-high marks.

She appeared in all 25 games and totaled at least 10 points in the final 21 games, including a career-high 31-point outburst against Iowa Wesleyan on Feb. 13^th.

Black, a St. Louis, Mo., native, posted a 9.6 season average, to go along with her 33.5 field goal percentage and career-high 82.5 free throw percentage. She also set new career-high totals in rebounds (85), assists (71), steals (100), and blocks (18). In the season finale, she became just the second Griffin player all-time to register at least 100 steals in a season.

In her four-year career, Black totaled 726 points, a 32.7 field goal percentage, 207 rebounds, 164 assists, 203 steals and 32 blocks.

Proffer, a Wildwood, Mo., native, set a career-high with a 6.2 point per game averaged and connected on 84.5 percent of her free throw attempts. The junior also totaled new career-highs in rebounds (90), assists (29), steals (39), and blocks (five).
