Women's Basketball at Greenville Preview

GREENVILLE, Ill.—The Fontbonne University women's basketball team looks to hand Greenville its first conference loss on Saturday. Tip-off at 1 p.m.

A Look At The Griffins

·         The Griffins saw its three game win streak get snapped in its last time out as they fell 80-63 against Westminster.

·         Fontbonne shot 42.6 percent from the field and were led by Raven Venegas' 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting which ties her season-high.

·         On the season, the Griffins are posting 70.7 points per game on a 40.3 field goal percentage.

·         Rylee Stafford paces the offense with a 14.9 season average. She's registered at least 10 points in the last 16 games.

·         Raven Venegas, meanwhile, continues to have a career year with a 12.4 point per game average, to go along with her 55.4 field goal percentage.

·         Paige Black averages 9.3 points and gets it done defensively with a career-high 75 steals. She currently ranks fifth all-time in the single-season record book.

 

A Look At The Greenville Panthers

·         Due to cancellations, the Panthers have played two less conference games. Saturday begins a seven game stretch in the month of February.

·         In January, the Panthers ran the table with a 7-0 record. They're coming off an 84-27 win over Principia back on January 28th.

·         On the season, the team is scoring 75.3 points, shooting 43.3 percent from the floor and dominating the glass with 44.0 rebounds per game.

·         Defensively, they're holding opponents to just 55.5 points and a 33.9 field goal percentage.

·         Individually, Wesley Woodard is averaging a team-high 14.3 points, shooting 56.0 percent from the floor, 78.8 percent from the line and pulling down 4.7 rebounds per game.

·         Senior guard Jantzen Michael averages 11.8 points, while Morgan St. James is third on the team in scoring at 10.1 points per game.
