Women's Basketball at Rhodes Classic Preview

MEMPHIS, Tenn.—After opening with a 22-point win in its season opener, the Fontbonne University women's basketball team looks for its first two road wins against Ozarks on Saturday at 7 p.m., followed by a 4 p.m., outing on Sunday against host Rhodes.

A Look At The Griffins

  • Fontbonne got the season started with an 88-66 win over Robert Morris-Springfield on Tuesday night.
  • The team shot 44.6 percent from the floor, totaled 51 boards, 26 assists, and 14 steals.
  • Individually, Sarah Schraut led with a team-high 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
  • Rylee Stafford contributed 16 points, seven boards, and four assists.
  • Raven Venegas and Mallory Proffer tied with 12 points each, as did Jillian Venegas and Riley Guffey with 10. 


A Look At The University of the Ozarks Eagles

  • The Eagles dropped to 0-3 on Thursday after an 82-73 loss against Rhodes.
  • The team shot 40.4 percent from the floor and were led by Hailey Ostrander's 19 points.
  • On the year, the Eagles are scoring 61.7 points per game and shooting 37.7 percent from the floor.
  • Ostrander paces the offense with a 13.7 point per game average and a 51.7 field goal percentage.
  • Delanel Stephens is putting up 10.3 points and hitting 42.3 percent of her shots from the floor.


A Look At The Rhodes Lynx

  • After coming off an 18-9 campaign last year, the Lynx opened this year with the 11-piont win over Ozarks.
  • Allie Young led all scorers with a game-high 23 points on 7-of-15 shooting.
  • Lindsey Whiteside contributed 19 18 points and seven boards, while Alyssa Owens had 14 and five rebounds.
