Women's basketball announces 2016-17 schedule

St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne University women's basketball head coach Maureen Sias has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

This year the Griffins will take two big trips during the season, the first opening up in Dallas, Texas with two games and the second with two games in Florida over the holiday break.

Fontbonne opens at Dallas Christian University on Nov. 17th followed by the University of Dallas the following evening. The Griffins then return home to host Harris-Stowe State University on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. and conclude Thanksgiving week at home on Saturday Nov. 26th with a 1 p.m. matchup against Central College of Iowa.

The Griffins open St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on the road at Westminster College and host their first conference contest against MacMurray at 1 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 3rd before taking on Wydown rival Washington University on Dec. 6th.

Fontbonne concludes non-conference play in Florida at Warner University and Webber International at the end of December. The Griffins' first home game of 2017 is against Robert Morris University of Peoria at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7th.

Fontbonne hosts conference opponents every Saturday from Jan. 7th-Feb. 11th except for two days. The Griffins return four seniors with senior recognition to be held on Feb. 11th against Spalding University.
