St. Louis- Fontbonne University women's basketball fell to 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference play as the Webster University Gorloks won this afternoon 64-52.
Down 11 points at halftime, Fontbonne scored 27 points in the second half, hoping to shorten the margin. Webster didn't let down, putting an additional 28 points on the board, securing their win.
Fontbonne's three-point shooting fell way short as the Griffins went 0-9 on the afternoon and totaled just 28% shooting. Fontbonne was confident at the line, draining 20 of 28 shots attempts.
Freshmen Chelsy Gibson and DeAmbra Pilkinton led the Griffins, scoring 11 points apiece off the bench. Webster's Courtney Pursley scored 23 points for the game-high and Britt Harris-Conway scored 13 during the game.
Fontbonne hosts Washington University this Tuesday, December 10th at 6pm before traveling to Elmhurst Saturday and North Park Sunday. Saturday's game is slated for 2pm and Sunday's for noon.
