St. Louis- Women's basketball returns to a winning St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record after defeating MacMurray College tonight 73-59. The Griffins are 3-2 in the SLIAC and 4-10 overall. MacMurray is now 2-4 in the SLIAC and 4-8 overall.
Fontbonne freshman Nicole Joerger scored a career-high 19 points in 29 minutes of play tonight. Joerger drained all four shot attempts in the 1st half to go into the locker room with 10 points. She connected each of her 3 treys and finished the night 8 for 11 shooting a 73% FGPCT. Senior Allison Hogan finished the night with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Samantha Voegtle and Ava Johnson both ended the night with 11 points. Johnson also contributed 6 rebounds to aid in the Griffins' SLIAC win.
MacMurray's offense couldn't connect behind the arc, finishing the night 4 for 21 (19%). Vicki Bradshaw ended with 14 points and 5 steals for the Highlanders. Amy Radford pulled in 9 defensive rebounds and totaled 12 for the night.
Fontbonne returns to the court Tuesday to take on the Blackburn College Beavers at 6pm.
