ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team looked to close out its four-game homestand with a win, however, the Dominican Stars came away with the 6-0 win.

How It Happened
In the first half, freshman Cory Schonhoff got his first collegiate start in net and he was tested early with three saves in the first 10:00 minutes.
However, in the 31st minute, the Stars broke through. Martin Lamas passed the ball up from midfield for Vicente Castro, he was able to get behind the Griffins defense and score to make it a 1-0 contest. From there, the Stars added goals in the 32nd and 35th minutes to own 3-0 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Stars outshot Fontbonne 11-3 and with them adding three more second half goals they were able to go on for the six-goal win.
- Fontbonne was limited to four shots in the outing.
- Bryan Carroll (two), Blake Ruffino, and Brandon Waynick had the shot attempts.
- In net, Schonhoff totaled nine saves.
- The Stars finished with 30 shots.
- Castro, Giacomo Parrino, Jesus Lopez, Isaac Perez, Nicolo Vitale, and Christopher Linkenbach each had a goal.
The Griffins will now head down to Richardson, Texas, this weekend for two contests. First-up is Texas-Dallas on Friday night. Kick-off set for 7 p.m.
