ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team released its 2019 schedule with the season officially getting underway on August 30th.
The Griffins are coming off a 9-9 (6-3 SLIAC) 2018 campaign and just missed out on a spot in the SLIAC Tournament after going 5-3 in the month of October, including winning its final two against MacMurray and Webster.
This year, the team will have an exhibition contest on the road against NCAA Division II McKendree University on August 21st. After the Alumni Game on the 24th, the season gets underway up north when they'll visit Concordia Wisconsin on August 30th. Two days later, the team will take on Wisconsin-Platteville.
After a road stint against Harris-Stowe State on September 5th, the Griffins will play four straight home games over a seven-day stretch where they'll face the likes of Pacific Lutheran (Sept. 8th), Millikin (Sept. 11th), Berry (Sept. 13th), and Dominican (Sept. 15th).
From there, the team will head down to Texas for a couple games against Texas-Dallas (Sept. 20th) and Mary Hardin-Baylor (Sept. 22nd). The Griffins will finish out its non-conference slate three days later when they'll take on Rose-Hulman on the road.
The road swing continues into October with two tough outings against Spalding (Oct. 5th) and reigning SLIAC Champion, Greenville University, on Oct. 9th.
The team closes out the month with three games at home against Iowa Wesleyan (Oct. 12th), Blackburn (Oct. 15th), and Principia (Oct. 22nd). On the road, they'll visit Webster (Oct. 19th), Westminster (Oct. 26th), and MacMurray (Oct. 30th).
The Griffins finish out its 2019 regular season at home on November 2nd against Eureka.
