Nguyen Nets Career-High Four Goals Against Beloit

BELOIT, Wis.-- The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team had a tough 19-7 conference loss against Beloit University.

Final: Beloit 19, Fontbonne 7

Location: Strong Stadium (Beloit, Wis.)

Records: Beloit (4-6, MLC 3-3), Fontbonne (1-8; MLC 1-4)

What Happened:
Beloit got on the scoreboard first scoring at the 13:41 mark by Michael Boyland. From there, Beloit added five more goals. However, the Griffins were able to find the back of the net at the 9:31 mark with a goal by Regan Chin and then another goal at the 4:50 mark with a goal from Brian Nguyen. The score at the end of the first was 6-2 in favor of Beloit.

In the second, Fontbonne was able to find the back of the net with a goal by Matt Rech. Unfortunately, Beloit was able to tack on six more goals ending the quarter with a score of 12-3.

In the third, both the Griffins and the Buccaneers went back-and-forth on goals. Beloit was able to add two quick goals, but Fontbonne fought back by scoring twice to reduce the lead to 14-5.

In the fourth quarter, Brian Nguyen was able to find the back of the net twice for the Griffins, however, the Buccaneers were able to close out the game with the final score being 19-7.

• The Griffins recorded 26 shots with 11 on target.
• The Griffins finished with 19 ground balls.
• The Buccaneers finished with 58 shots.
• The Buccaneers recorded 45 ground balls.

• Brian Nguyen recorded four goals and one assist.
• Alex Scott, Reagan Chin, and Matt Rech all contributed a goal.
• Alex Scott, Connor Macintyre, and Matt Rech all also recorded an assist tonight.

Beloit Notables:

• Michael Boyland finished with nine goals and one assist.
• Mark Gannon recorded six goals.
• Steven Soli and Andrei Prikhodko both contributed two goals each.
