Four Griffins earn MLC honors

May 7, 2012 -  Four Fontbonne University men's lacrosse players were recently named to the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) Honorable Mention All-Conference Team. Griffin seniors Camerin Staffel and Zac Moore as well as juniors Colin Benecke and Mike Liebreich took home those all-conference honors.

Staffel set new school records for most points in a season and most assists in a season. Staffel tallied 59 points on 27 goals and 32 assists. Benecke finished second on the team in assists with 12 and chipped in with 18 goals for 30 points.

Liebreich led the team in caused turnovers this season with 31 while Moore finished right behind him with 28. Moore led the team in ground balls with 59.

Fontbonne finished the season 8-8 and 4-5 in the MLC. The Griffins set a new school record for most wins in a season.
