St. Louis, MO - The Fontbonne Griffins battled through a tense overtime period to claim an 81-76 victory over the Blackburn Beavers in an intense conference matchup.
After a back-and-forth regulation that saw multiple lead changes, the Beavers forced overtime with a clutch three point shot in the final seconds. In the extra period, the Griffins capitalized on key possessions, overall guard Casey Crowley leading the charge, finishing with 17 points and three assists.
Forward Charles Nelson was dominant on the boards, securing 16 points to go along with his five rebounds. The Griffins dominated offensively the whole game, eventually sealing a hard-fought victory.
The Griffins will aim to build on this victory as they prepare for their next showdown at Spalding on Saturday, February 1. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
