Men's Basketball at Webber Christmas Shootout Preview

BABSON PARK, Fla.—The Fontbonne University men's basketball team looks for a road win down in Florida against NAIA John Brown University, who is currently ranked No. 23 in the NAIA Division I Poll. Tip-off at 2 p.m. On Wednesday, the Griffins go toe-to-toe against host Webber International at 4 p.m.

A Look At The Griffins

·         Fontbonne is coming off a tough 86-75 defeat against Westminster in the SLIAC Game of the Week on Saturday.

·         Luke DeLine led the Griffins with a team-high 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

·         Jared Woodcock and Carter Otwell contributed 12 points each.

·         On the year, the Griffins are scoring 76.6 points per game, shooting 48.6 percent from the floor, and 38.3 percent from downtown.

·         DeLine upped his season average to 22.6 points. He's connecting on 56.7 percent of his shots, including 49.3 percent of his attempts from beyond-the-arc.

·         Woodcock is putting up 14.7 points, while Gus Kleekamp is averaging 7.2 points, to go along with his 56.6 field goal percentage.


A Look At The John Brown Golden Eagles

·         JBU, out of the Sooner Athletic Conference, are coming off a 71-66 win over Southwestern Christian.

·         On the season, the Golden Eagles are averaging 87.5 points, shooting 48.2 percent from the floor, 38.3 percent from downtown, and corralling 34.9 rebounds per game.

·         Individually, Josh Bowling paces the offense with his team-high 17.8 point per game average. He's also shooting 51.7 percent from the floor and 89.1 percent from the charity stripe.

·         Jake Caudle leads the team with 26 assists and averages 13.2 points per game.

·         Desmond Kennedy (12.3 ppg) and Brenton Toussaint (10.9 ppg) are the final JBU players to average double-figures.


A Look At The Webber International Warriors

·         The Warriors improved to 6-7 overall after a 113-84 win over Southeastern Baptist College.

·         In the win, Simon Fransis led with a team-high 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting and drained five 3-pointers.

·         On the year, the Warriors are scoring 81.5 points per game on 42.2 percent shooting.

·         On the glass, they're averaging 36.8 rebounds per game, but surrendering 41.0.

·         Tommie Luke owns a team-high 22.7 point per game average.

·         Malik Morrow averages 11.2 points, while Fransis upped his season average to 8.3 points per game.
