ELSAH, Ill. – The Fontbonne University baseball team scored sever runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat the Principia College Panthers 11-0 on Tuesday on the game two of the doubleheader.
The Griffins improve to 6-15 overall and 5-5 in SLIAC play.
Gavin Lyday went 2-for-3, driving in two runs and scoring one run.
Davin Smith went 2-for-4, driving in one run and scoring two runs.
Ty Kueper added two RBI, one hit and one run.
Eric Creech and Josh Rhiney each scored two runs.
Kameren Brooks, Carter Arenz and Zapher Lea each scored one run.
The Griffins out-hit the Panther 11-4.
Derek Morganthaler earned the win on the mound, picking up his second win of the season. He pitched the complete game shutout, striking out three while allowing four hits.
On game one, Principia shutout the Griffins, 10-0 in seven innings. Jack Reynolds was the only Griffins who earned a hit, while Eric Creech stole a base.
Camden Coleman pitched 6.0 innings, taking the loss on the mound. He struck out three while allowing 10 hits and eight runs. Chase Blumer pitched 0.1 innings, allowing two hits and two runs.

The Griffins travel to Lyon on Saturday, April 12 for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for a 12 p.m. start.
