How It Happened
The scoring got started in the bottom of the first with Braeden Dobbs and Matt Manint each recording an RBI to give them a 2-0 lead.
In the second, the Griffins extended its lead out to 3-0 with Colby Shivers belting his first collegiate homer over the left field wall. In the fourth, the Griffins put the game away.
With the bases loaded and one out, Lane Smith cleared thee bases with a double to push the lead out to 6-0. Daniel Youngblood added an RBI prior to the inning ending to make it, 7-0.
That was more than enough for starter Luke Summers who tossed a gem and with Fontbonne tacking on three more runs in the sixth the Griffins enacted the mercy-rule for the 10-run win.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Summers earned his first win on the year tossing a complete game shutout and sitting down a season-high 12.
- Lane Smith had a day at the No. 9 slot in the order going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a career-high four RBI.
- Daniel Youngblood went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.
- Grant Staffen, Joey Johnson, Shivers, and Tyler Chambliss added the other hits.

How It Happened
After Blackburn took the 1-0 lead in the first, the Griffins plated two in the third to take the one-run lead. In the fifth, Youngblood made it a 3-1 game with a double bringing home Chambliss, who reached base on a one out single.
Two batters later, Ty Kueper brought Youngblood home with a single to right. Shivers stayed hot with the bat hitting a triple to center to give Fontbonne a 5-1 lead.
The Griffins added two more in the sixth, two in the seventh, and three more in the eighth for the run-rule win.

- Chambliss had a career-high four-hit performance at the leadoff spot.
- Trey Kueper went 2-for-4 with a run scored and career-high three RBI.
- Ty Kueper went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.
- Youngblood added two hits and two RBI.
- Ryan Howell earned his first win on the year tossing 7.0 innings, allowing one run, and sitting down four.
