Summers Named SLIAC Pitcher Of The Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—After picking up two wins and striking out a career-high 12 batters on Sunday, the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) awarded Luke Summers as Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Summers, a St. Louis, Missouri, native, picked up two more wins on the season as he needed just 73 pitches to get past No. 20 Spalding. On Sunday, the hurler tossed 7.0 more innings and struck out a career-high 12 for his seventh win on the season.

He currently needs just one more win to tie the single-season record in wins, along with nine more strikeouts would place him atop the record books for a single-season.

The Griffins return to action tomorrow night against Blackburn at Shaw Park. First-pitch at 6:45 p.m.
