Baseball tabbed 4th in SLIAC Coaches' Preseason Poll
St. Louis- Fontbonne baseball has been selected to finish 4th in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play according to the recent Coaches' Preseason Poll.
Last year the Griffins finished conference play in 3rd place with a 16-8 record, just behind Greenville, and advanced in the SLIAC Tournament to the Championship, losing to Webster.
The Griffins will look to pitchers Drew Schelerth and Jacob Becker. Schelerth, a senior, earned First Team All-SLIAC last season and had 53 strikeouts in 77.1 innings of work, along with four complete games and one shutout. Becker, a junior, recorded 54 strikeouts in 2012 and pitched 68.1 innings and had three complete games.
