Fontbonne hires new women's volleyball coach
Jan. 3, 2012 - The Fontbonne University Athletic Department is pleased to announce it has hired Meredith Heater as its new Head Women's Volleyball Coach.
"Fontbonne University is pleased to welcome Coach Meredith Heater to the Fontbonne family," Fontbonne Director of Athletics Maria Eftink said. "Coach Heater's experience and enthusiasm leave us excited for the future of Fontbonne volleyball. She is a former Division III student-athlete and a proven recruiter. We are confident in her abilities to help the women's volleyball program regain the success it has enjoyed in past years."
Coach Heater comes to Fontbonne from Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois. Coach Heater has served as the head women's volleyball and head women's tennis coach at Lewis & Clark since December 2009. Prior to Lewis and Clark, Coach Heater served as the head volleyball coach at Southwestern Illinois College.
In addition to her NJCAA experience, Coach Heater comes to Fontbonne with valuable NCAA Div. III experience. Coach Heater served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Greenville College from 2006-2007. She also played her collegiate volleyball at Greenville.
"I'm excited about this new challenge and thrilled to have the opportunity to get back into NCAA Div. III athletics, " Coach Heater said. "Fontbonne's volleyball program has a tremendous history and I look forward to becoming part of the Griffin family."
