In the first quarter, the Griffins jumped to a fast 10-1 start just three minute and 33 seconds in on Black's 3-pointer. Five minutes later, the team stretched its advantage out to 19-7 on Stafford's made free throws and were able to maintain its double-digit lead the rest of the way leading by 10 (22-12) after one quarter.
It was a dominant second quarter by Fontbonne. The team shot 80.0 percent (8-of-10) from the floor and outrebounded the Red Devils 11-1.
Samantah Sarnes got the scoring started in the second with a bucket, but over the next two minutes and change the Griffins rattled off a 10-0 run as Raven Venegas' jumper gave them a 32-14 lead. It was all Fontbonne the rest of the way with the Griffins owning a 46-31 advantage at the break.
At the 7:59 mark of the third quarter, the Griffins were on top 55-34 after Stafford capped it off with a 3-point play. The team continued its impressive play as they stretched it out to 22 (67-45) with 2:10 to go on Schraut's made free throws.
The Red Devils added a couple late free throws to make it a 70-52 game going into the fourth. In the fourth, the Griffins took just six attempts from the floor as they went 5-of-6 overall. However, the team pulled away from Eureka at the line going 17-of-20.
Despite EC shooting 52.6 percent from the field in the fourth, the team never got the Griffins lead down to single-digits with Fontbonne going on for the 16-point win.
