Coach Prater will enter his 2nd year as the head men's and women's wrestling coach. After spending last season recruiting, both men and women to the new programs, Coach Prater will enter his first year of competition.
Prior to his time with Fontbonne, Prater spent three years as the Head Coach at Fox High School and two years as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Seckman High School.
Since July 2015, he's been a part of the Missouri National Team coaching staff where he prepares athletes across the state to compete at regional and national tournaments by facilitating practices to work on techniques and conditioning.
Along with being a USA Wrestling Bronze Level Coach, Prater is also a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
He's a 2006 graduate from the University of Missouri Columbia with a Bachelor of General Studies: Emphasis in Music, History and Education. Also, at the University of Missouri, Prater was a three year letter winner in wrestling and notched 71 career victories.
He went on to earn his Masters of Educational Administration – Secondary and Master of Arts in Teaching: Emphasis in Secondary Education Social Studies from Missouri Baptist University.
Coach Prater is married to Krystal Prater and they have two daughters Aryn who is 10 and Anaya who is 6.
